Much like its previous installments, Dark Souls 3 is a difficult game that requires precision and focus to be completed.
Considering this is the last game of the trilogy, the developers went all out and provided some of the greatest challenges that the franchise has ever offered and its DLC is particularly famous for being difficult too.
One of the best things about the series is its freedom in gameplay and that means players can make specific builds based on their preferences.
One of the most popular builds in Dark Souls 3 is the Dex build, and it can take a while to figure out which weapons are best suited for it due to the game’s immense variety.
We’ve just launched a separate guide for the best strength weapons in Dark Souls 3, make sure to check it out and these two:

Dark Souls 3: Best Dexterity Weapons
Instead of mentioning solo and online play separately, we’ve added the best dexterity weapons that can be used ideally for both gameplay.
1. Crow Quills
While most weapons fail to leave the A rank in scale when it comes to weapons within the Dex builds, the Crow Quills refuse to follow the rules. Sitting at a rare S scaling, it has very high damage which includes the chances of landing critical hits.
Its long-range allows players to keep their enemies at range while the thrusting attacks are good for almost any situation. The way the moveset works for this weapon is unique since it’s not exactly a sword, and it even has a projectile-based attack in which you throw the quills at your enemies.
You can even pressure opponents mid-air by shooting the quills, which is something not many weapons allow you to do in the game.
It’s no surprise that this weapon shows up on this spot in almost every tier list and it’s great for all types of gameplay, such as solo, PvP, and PvE.
2. Chaos Blade
Returning from the previous Dark Souls games is the Katana-based Chaos Blade which has the highest output for a weapon of its kind. With an S rank in scaling, this weapon not only delivers extremely high damage, but also initiates bleed damage onto its enemies once hit.
And if you’re one of the players who rely heavily on parrying and rolling, the sword is lightweight and has a pretty good counter potential if used correctly.
While the weapon is great in solo and PvE, it’s a bit annoying to use in PvP because it comes with a major trade-off – your health is drained a little bit for as long as you keep wielding this weapon.
3. Frayed Blade
Introduced in a DLC, this blade has a massive requirement that sits at 40 dex points. However, it’s one of the coolest weapons in the game and is used for most flashy videos that you’d see on the internet when it comes to the katana category.
It deals a great amount of damage to enemies which includes bleed and dark properties simultaneously – something that is not very common in the game to have at the same time.
What further sets it apart is that it does not share the same basic move set as the other swords in the game, as you can unleash shockwaves and cool swings that hold dark magic and bleed properties respectively. And its combo potential is something that fans welcome greatly.
4. Lothric Knight Sword
The Lothric Knight Sword is quite popular and that’s because it’s an all-rounder weapon. It’s easy to learn, has a long-range, delivers quite a few critical hits, and has very high general damage.
If you don’t mind having the moveset of a sword (or prefer it), then this is one of the most consistent weapons that you can use in the game from start to finish.
Not only that, but it’s one of the few weapons on this list that can be alternatively purchased aside from the usual fixed location.
5. Sellsword Twinblades
The Sellsword Twinblades was a meme for some time and that’s because of how powerful they are. It’s a powerful set of weapons that offer great safety but high damage.
You can easily chain heavy and light attacks with these blades and pull off some decent combos, while not sacrificing anything on the damaging side of things. It’s great for both PvE and PvP gameplay.
6. Warden Twinblades
At first glance, it’s easy to assume that the Warden Twinblades are not worth using due to the fact the Sellsword Twinblades have higher statistics. However, the Warden variation has bleed damage which increases with consecutive hits.
And if you pair it up with the right gems, it enters the A-tier scaling as well
7. Washing Pole
Do you like keeping your enemies at a distance while still delivering them enough damage to win the fight? Then the Washing Pole is exactly what you’re looking for.
It’s a katana-based weapon and it deals a high amount of damage if paired with the right items.
It’s great for crowd control, and keeping a distance, and has a great advantage in PvP against players who like to roll too much. And another great thing about it is that you can buy it very early on in the game.
8. Irithyll Straight Sword
Let’s start with what all of us are thinking – this sword looks SO cool. But looks aren’t the only good thing about it as it’s extremely powerful for how early on in the game you can obtain it.
It has a decent range and a basic Longsword moves that can be used to deal with most of the enemies in the game pretty well.
Its frost element also adds a nice touch to the sword’s property, acting as a nice break from the usual design of the Longswords in the game.
9. Murakumo Greatsword
Murakumo is a curved sword that requires a hefty number of 20 dex points to be used at all.
It’s a long sword that provides great range and its moveset is very entertaining and powerful to use. It’s great for both PvP and PvE combat and can be used to create long chains of attacks thanks to the flexibility that it offers.
Not only that, it even ranks S on the rankings scale index builds.
10. Astora Greatsword
The Astora Greatsword is a tank weapon that needs a lot of strength and dex points to be used.
While the requirements may sound excessive, it’s all worth it in the end because the weapon is S tier on the dex scaling and gains an additional +2 damage every time your dex points increase.
It’s a bit lacking in the versatility department in terms of its moveset, but its damage potential easily makes up for it and that’s why it’s such a great weapon to use, especially in PvP.
That’s it for our list of the 10 best Dark Souls 3 dex weapons! We hope you found the weapon that is most useful for you and we’re here to answer any questions that you might have. And while you’re here, make sure to check out some of our other helpful gaming guides too.
