The Borderlands franchise has always had many different class mods to use that adds a fair amount of variety to the gameplay. It’s especially important to have that diversity in the way you wish to approach your playstyle in loot-based games because it can get annoying to grind for dozens of hours otherwise.
To provide a little recap, the class mods in the game come with three different things. Which are the skill bonuses, stat bonuses, and a special perk that is individual to each of the Vault Hunters. It can take an awful lot of time to figure out the best class mods meant for certain classes as there is a lot of variation even within the classes themselves – and Borderland 3’s constant updates early on in the release balanced some things out too.
So, something that was particularly good or bad in the past might not be on the same tier as of today.
Out of all of the classes, the Legendary class is one of the most popular ones among fans of the Borderlands series, so we’ve created a list of the top 10 Borderlands 3 legendary class mods for you to save you the time of figuring it all out yourself! Let’s get started.
1. Raging Bear
Iron Bear was not that useful in the early days of the game but after a few buffs in some of the updates, it’s one of the most powerful class mods that you can find.
It’s considered a must-have for Moze because it reduces fuel usage every time you kill an enemy and gives them increased damage too. Obtaining it can be difficult though since you need Mayhem 4 to be active if you want it.
If you have trouble with endurance with Moze, this is the mod that you have been looking for. It’s easily one of the best legendary class mods in Borderlands 3.
2. Spiritual Driver
Are you one of the guys who like to go crazy in video games as a relentless killer towards every enemy that stands in your way? Then you should go for Spiritual Driver because it provides increased gun damage to the character who equips it. It’s really useful for people who like being on the move in battles and can be found in Mayhem 4 just like Raging Bear.
If you unlock the Mindfulness skill then you can use this legendary class mod to its complete power, since it will even increase speed along with the damage when Amara moves.
3. Blast Master
The Blast Master legendary class mod is particularly useful for Moze because it adds splash damage of up to 100 points to her shots as long as she does not reload. Why the mod is great for her becomes a no brainer since she’s known for having a lot of ammo capacity and the ability to detonate explosions.
The skill bonus that you get provides you with a 30% chance of your grenades getting a critical hit and you can expand that to a 50% chance with upgrades. So, all good things for aggressive players.
The Phasezerker class mod provides Amara with a Rush stack count that increases damage and provides a smaller cooldown rate if you activate the Action Skill. Rush stacks go hand in hand for Amara so it’s really useful to have the bonuses that come with this legendary class mod.
5. R4KK P4K
This is another one of the legendary class mods that became better after receiving buffs instead of being great from the get-go. In the Mayhem Mode, something like R4KK P4K can give you a great advantage with skills like Rakk Attack.
With this mod, if you attack enemies it splits people into two and it automatically seeks enemies to hit. It’s technically like a cluster grenade to explain the way it works.
Antifreeze is a legendary class mode that gives you a 40% increased weapon damage every time you’re sliding or airborne. You will have to kill a boss in Mayhem 4 like most of the mods in the list, but it’s worth the effort once you obtain it.
It takes a bit of time to get used to, though, since running and sliding so much to get the bonus is not as simple as it sounds.
7. Seein’ Dead
This legendary class mod can only be obtained in the Handsome Jackpot DLC, but it’s worth the additional spending. This mod makes Zane significantly stronger and lets him activate his Kill Skill by simply just damaging the enemies – and there is a 25% effect bonus too.
Essentially, yes. It does mean you can have the Kill Skill activated almost entirely through the fights that you’ll be finding yourself in.
The St4ckbot is another legendary class mod that is tied to the Handsome Jackpot DLC, so you can’t obtain it unless you have it with your game. What it does is increase your damage every time you score a critical hit and it lasts for as long as you keep scoring them.
It’s ultimately not that great due to its limitation but if you’re someone who likes to play the game in a specific way, you’ll know it’s right for you. If you get a non-elemental gun, you’ll be dealing a lot of damage at the end.
9. Mind Sweeper
This mod lets you drop an exploding grenade every time you get a critical hit. The final boss of the Trial of Cunning drops it, and then you can apply it to Moze as soon as you like. Her splash damage complements this mod.
And if you pair this mod with something that can double the splash damage, you will be looking at nothing short of a powerhouse.
This mod increases Zane’s speed in movement and also his damage. The perk becomes increasingly effective based on how low his shield is, so that’s a great plus. And since one of Zane’s skills is to have more damage based on his movement, it’s a mod that just compliments him in every way.
It’s not one of the greatest legendary class mods in Borderlands 3 but it can prove to be useful.
