While the craze of battle-royale games has eased off a bit over time, Naraka: BLADEPOINT tries to have a unique spin on the formula. Featuring fast-paced 60-player action that focuses on melee combat rather than guns, the game seems very promising and is being loved by the gaming community.
Although the game was released very recently, it’s already on several different platforms and has a future mobile port planned out too, which means that you will be seeing the game everywhere in a matter of a few weeks.
Naturally, when a game is available on so many platforms, players want to know if it has cross-platform multiplayer or not.
After all, the year is 2021 and even mobile phones can handle many large-scale video games like Fortnite and PUBG, so it’s ideal that players should be able to play the game with their friends irrespective of what platform they’re all on as long as they’re on the same version of the game.
So, the question needs answering – does Naraka: BLADEPOINT have cross-platform multiplayer? Let’s take a look at official forces and find out immediately!
Naraka: BLADEPOINT Cross-Play Explained
Let’s take a moment to talk about what cross functionalities in video games mean in case anyone reading this article is not fully aware of them. If you already know what the three cross functions in video games are and what they do – then skip to the next section of the article for your answer!
There are three types of cross features in video games so far and they are becoming increasingly common as time goes on. The first and most popular type is cross-play, which is what this guide is mainly about.
Cross-play refers to the ability to be able to play online games with your friends irrespective of what platform that they’re on.
For an easy example, if you’re playing a game on a PlayStation 4 and your friend is on a PC – then you two should be able to play the game together without any issues as long as you have the same updates to the game.
The second one is called cross-progression and it’s about having the same progress across all platforms. For example, someone who reached level 70 in a game on a PC should have the same progress in the game if they log onto the game on an Xbox One.
The last one is called cross-generation multiplayer. An easy example of this would be that two players on a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 should be able to play with each other without any problem, as long as they share the same console brand. Thus, this logic applies to the Xbox One and an Xbox Series X too.
Now that we have the meaning of these functions out of the way, let’s jump right to the main answer everyone is here for!
