The Sword of Night and Flame is one of the best weapons in Elden Ring. It scales well with Strength, Dexterity, Faith, and Intelligence – and comes with a unique skill too which is very effective in combat.
It might come off as a surprise that a weapon that cannot be enchanted, boosted, or even infused with Ashes of War is considered one of the best weapons in the game. However, the Night-and-Flame Stance allows the user to hold the sword level and then follow up with an attack that casts the Comet Azur sorcery.
Not only that but the follow-up attack can be a sweep flame attack that causes fire damage too. With that in mind, it’s no surprise that this weapon is so useful even after Patch 1.03 nerfed its skills.
So, where do you find the Sword of Night and Flame in Elden Ring? What is the best Sword of Night and Flame build that you can start off with? Let’s take a look and find out!
Where is the Sword of Night and Flame in Elden Ring?
The Sword of Night and Flame can be found in a chest. But getting to that chest is not too easy because it’s located in Caria Manor.
Keep in mind that you need 12 Strength, 12 Dexterity, 24 Intelligence, and 24 Faith to properly use this weapon. And having higher scaling on certain stats makes it even better.
Let’s begin the journey of finding this sword.
First of all, you need to go to the Manor Lower Level Site of Grace.

Once you’re at the Manor Lower Level Site of Grace, you need to exit through the front door in front of you.
Keep going forward until you reach the end. You might encounter some Spirit Soldiers, so be prepared for that.
Then, when you reach the end, take the first left. Keep going until you reach the end again, and then take a right.
Keep going forward until you find a broken side of the intersection on the left side. Jump down until you land on the roof below. Then jump down again from there onto the lower rooftop.
Finally, you’ll find a ladder that will take you downwards. Go down and eventually you’ll find the chest inside the room that you’re in.
Open the chest and the Sword of Night and Flame is yours. It’s a straightforward way to get the weapon and can be done early on in the game too.
Yet the weapon is very useful and easily one of the best in the game. FromSoftware nerfed this weapon, so that should give you an idea of how good it is. And even after the nerfs, it’s a fan favorite for the Elden Ring community.
