AFK Arena Best Heroes Tier List
Since the game has over a hundred characters, it would be redundant to list every single one of them when a large number of them are not worth your time or particularly useful to play against overpowered enemies or high-level players in the PvP mode.
So, we’re going to list the best characters and split them into the necessary tier lists that they belong in.
Furthermore, we need to split the heroes based on the class that they belong to – because the characters are not better than each other if they are in different classes.
Rather, one of each class is useful to have in your team and they are only better or worse than other heroes that belong to the same class. With these important clarifications out of the way, here’s the tier list:

AFK Arena Tank Tier List
Let’s start off with the tanks since they are the easiest to play since their advantages lie in their raw strength, rather than something like magic.
S-Tier AFK Arena Tank Heroes
1. Daimon
Daimon is arguably the best tank in AFK Arena and is one of the best heroes in general. He’s flexible and is one of the most effective heroes that improve with every level that you raise for them.
One particularly amazing thing about him is that he’s very fun to play, which cannot be said about every character that you’ll see on the list. So, effectiveness and entertainment combined – Daimon is an all-rounder tank hero to go for.
2. Albedo
Albedo is very useful and is a team player, with the recommended setup for him being when players pair her with a character like Ainz. However, she’s still very useful even if you don’t pair up with specific characters thanks to her great attack power.
3. Thoran
Thoran is considered an all-rounder character similar to Daimon, but he can be used in many different strategies with less effort required than the aforementioned counterpart. This allows him to deal a great amount of damage to all enemy players and the game’s AI – which means that you’ll be good to go with this character no matter which game mode you wish to play.
4. Titus
Like the other tanks in the S list, Titus is pretty useful and deals a lot of damage without too much effort. But he’s a bit reliant on being leveled up as the others outshine him in general. But once you level him up, he’s very useful and can be a very powerful tank that lives up to the class’s name. It’s always good to invest in a character like this since you can’t always end up choosing what character you’d get anyway.

AFK Arena Ranger Tier List
Rangers are not characters with magic, but they’re pretty useful for support and keeping enemies at bay. They can be used as an assassin too since they can always keep their distance.
S-Tier AFK Arena Ranger Heroes
1. Eironn
Eironn is one of the best rangers and he’s best used as a main since his effectiveness improves immensely based on how much you end up leveling him. Once you get his signature item, you won’t have to try any other ranger out unless you’re simply bored – so he’s definitely worth your time.
2. Athalia
Athalia is a fan favorite and that is for a good reason. Not only is she great against the game’s AI, but she’s also a very effective choice against PvP players too if you upgrade her enough. However, she requires a lot of strategy in her gameplay as she dies faster than some of the other AFK Arena heroes.
3. Lyca
Lyca is one of the few heroes in the S tier that is pretty useful even early on, as long as you invest in her a bit. She’s a great team player and someone who you’d end up relying on very often once you get your hands on her.
4. Lucretia
Lucretia is a character that gets better with every new update. She’s very effective to use and nearly overpowered if you play your cards right. Not only that but she’s considered a great carry too.
5. Raku
Despite being a ranger, Raku is strong enough to even take on the tank class. His signature item deals a significant amount of damage and he’s a generally fun and versatile character to play as too.
A-Tier AFK Arena Ranger Heroes
1. Ezio
Ezio is a very good character that can almost feel overpowered at times due to how easy it is to set up strategies with him that cause massive disadvantages to the enemy teams. His last ability is particularly strong and he’s far more versatile than most characters in the A tier.
He’s based on the actual Assassin’s Creed character that goes by the same name, so that’s always a massive plus. Plus, although similar, he’s better than the Prince of Persia hero who falls on the same hero class in AFK Arena.
2. Prince of Persia
Although not on the S tier, the Prince of Persia is still a pretty useful character. He’s very effective to use and comes with a bunch of different ways to attack opponents while remaining somewhat safe. Just like Ezio, the character genuinely is based on the actual Ubisoft character that we all know and love, thanks to a cross-over.

1. Joker
Based on the Persona 5 character, Joker was very hyped in the initial days of him being added to the game. What further made him stand out was that unlike some of the other guest characters who come from different types of gameplay styles, Joker actually is someone who we’re used to seeing in turn-based combat.
Unfortunately, he’s not as effective as many other heroes and falls into the B tier of ranger heroes.

S-Tier AFK Arena Mage Heroes
1. Zaphrael
Zaphrael is pretty useful in most situations and is one of the most sought out heroes in the game. One of the main reasons behind that is he’s a very good counter to Lucretia – and since Lucretia is used very often by players in the PvP mode, having a character with a better match-up ratio is a blessing.
2. Ainz Ooal Gown
Better known as just Ainz, this hero is considered one of the greatest characters in the entire game and the best carry that you can get your hands on. He has a great amount of damage potential and leveling him up makes him an absolute beast that destroys everything in its way. And if you team him up with Albedo, you’re nearly unstoppable.
3. Mehira
Mehira is very powerful and one of the most effective characters to play in the game. She’s considered a great character for crowd-controlling purposes as she can weed out all different kinds of threats with ease, given that the rest of the team is cooperative enough.
4. Merlin
Merlin is a character that is best used with a strategy, as he’s pretty good at making sure that enemies cannot get too comfortable with dealing you a large amount of damage.
Most certainly a great support option but also decent for personal use since his magical attacks can keep enemies at bay from himself too, not just other players in your squad. Sometimes, it’s just better to stay away – especially if your heroes are low at health.

2. Alna
Alna is considered a must-have due to the fact that she’s very versatile and acts as a very good support player despite being in the warrior class – which makes her a bit of a rarity to have since this game generally has abilities that limit heroes to a certain class.
3. Saurus
If you don’t mind sticking to one enemy at a time, then Saurus is very useful as he can focus on a single target and assassinate them, or at least bring them close to it while others in your team can get carried into taking the targets out once you have weakened them.

1. Ezizh
Ezizh is a character that you need to strategize with a lot since he can be easily taken out if used poorly. However, with the right amount of focus, you can manage to use him very effective against the enemy.
While he’s not that good of a support option early on, he truly shines once you invest your time into him and level him up to something that can both sustain his health and deal enough damage that your teammates are properly carried.
2. Tasi
Tasi is one of the most popular heroes in the game and her ability to control the battlefield is amazing, and easily one of the best in the game. She acts like a virus as she can slowly dismantle the entire enemy team, and when they are vulnerable, the rest of your heroes can finish the job.
3. Silas
Silas is a healer, and naturally, that makes him a great support character as he makes sure that his squad is alive and well as they take on the enemy team.
The more you upgrade him, the better he becomes at his job. And if some of your other heroes fall short – he’s not half bad at combat either for the class that he belongs to.
4. Talene
Compared to other heroes on the list, Talene has received a few nerfs over time. However, that tells you a lot in itself as the nerfs came in because she was overpowered – and even with the balance changes, she’s still very effective.
She’s strong and can be strategized very well against the enemy, which allows her to carry her squad very effectively.
5. Rowan
Rowan is a no-brainer for any player looking for a great healer. Whether it’s the beginning of a steady pace or leveling him up, he’s very effective as a healer and is not even difficult to play as or maintain. And additionally, he works very well with most top-tier characters and deals a decent amount of damage too when that’s required.
